TANGERANG — Rotary Indonesia has once again made history in the national health sector. To commemorate World Polio Day 2025, thousands of people from various regions across the country joined a national event titled “One Day One Focus: Ending Polio,” held simultaneously at Supermal Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang, and Awanncosta, Semarang, on Sunday (10/26/2025).
This humanitarian action, initiated by Rotary Club Districts 3410 and 3420, successfully earned a MURI record for the largest polio awareness event held simultaneously in Indonesia. The event was attended by Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, Tangerang Regent Meisal Rasyid, and Rotary Indonesia leaders, marking the extraordinary synergy between the global social organization and the local government.
District Governor of Rotary 3410, Ir. Sanny Suharli stated that Rotary remains committed to supporting polio eradication through vaccination, health education, and humanitarian fundraising. “Rotary is not just an organization, but a global movement that changes lives. We want to ensure that no more Indonesian children are paralyzed by polio,” she emphasized.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dyah Angraini, District Governor of Rotary 3420, added that this activity also symbolizes the unity of all Rotary members in Indonesia. “We want to raise public awareness about the importance of polio immunization and encourage all Indonesian families to ensure their children are protected,” she said.
The event was lively from the morning, with a fun walk, a symbolic polio vaccine drop, a children’s coloring contest, and music and dance performances by child cancer survivors. The enthusiasm of the participants grew even higher when the committee announced the achievement of the MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) record, a tangible testament to Rotary’s dedication to humanity and public health.
As a token of appreciation and a spirit of togetherness, Rotary Indonesia also presented spectacular door prizes for attendees, including two 1g ANTAM precious metals, two bicycles, two electric ovens, eight suitcases, five Bluetooth speakers, twenty data charger cables, two Nawilis vouchers, and three Aryaduta hotel vouchers. The prize draw was exciting and a highlight for all participants.
With a spirit of boundless humanity, Rotary Indonesia affirmed its position as a trusted partner of the government and the community in realizing a polio-free Indonesia. Through this historic event, Rotary demonstrated that compassion, collaboration, and concrete action can impact the health sector and inspire other nations around the world.***
